The moment I passed the State of Florida's 2-15 Life, Health and Variable Annuities insurance agents license, I landed a position with a very well-known and reputable insurance company. As one of their independent field agents, I was trained on every product in their portfolio, but I quickly learned that I was not sufficiently trained, nor did my briefcase contain what I really needed when I would arrive at the pre-set appointments of Medicare Beneficiaries.
I had been on the job about a month when I pulled up to a home and met the Prospect that would change my insurance career & frankly my life, forever. A woman opened the door, she was in her early 40's, in a wheelchair, breathing with the help of oxygen & smiling from ear to ear at me as she graciously invited me into her home. I knew right then and there that I would do any & everything to help her!
At the time I had no clue that this chance encounter would change the entire trajectory of my life, but I did know two things. If I steered her in the wrong direction, I would literally be playing with the quality of her life & that I could not answer one of her questions with factual information.
Thus began, not a job for me, but a life long Passion to understand all aspects of Medicare, how Medicare interacts with private insurance Medicare health plans, State Medicaid, Social Security, Disability, etc., and becoming an Advocate for all Medicare Beneficiaries.
I have personally helped thousands of Medicare Beneficiaries, trained, coached & mentored hundreds of Medicare health insurance agents & producers, overseen Medicare health plan accounts, written Medicare training materials & Medicare eBooks.
I found over the years that the companies I had worked for did not align with my morals, values, genuine care, honesty, empathy & integrity so I left them all behind and I opened my own agency & started MedicareGuru.Net in order to reach & help a larger population of beneficiaries.
